Data Privacy, Compliance and GDPR Specialist

Salary circa £50,000 to £55,000 plus car allowance and travel expenses, bonus and benefits.

Our client is a leading data governance consultancy, helping customers to get the greatest value from their data assets. 

As part of a planned expansion, they are seeking to recruit an additional senior consultant, who will work independently with customers throughout the UK and overseas on occasions, mainly based from home but with some time our offices in the South East.

 The role:

  • Data consultant who will speak knowledgeably about the entire data landscape with a client’s senior management team, advising the best course of action.
  • Discuss and give pragmatic advice in all data areas including; privacy by design, cross-border data transfer issues and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the form of privacy impact assessments, benchmarking, workshops all aimed at assessing a client’s privacy capabilities as well as recommending practical solutions to rapidly enhance a client’s privacy capability and ultimately reducing their exposure to risk.
  • The expectation is for technical excellence combined with strong commercial understanding and client consulting skills in a data risk advisory environment.
  • Demonstrate a real understanding of the practical aspects of data in organisations and be naturally inquisitive, solving complex problems.

 Suitable applicants:

  • Consultants will have a good understanding of the practical aspects of managing data privacy and the relationship with information security.
  • In particular the consultant should have security knowledge and a qualification in this area (CISMP or ISO27001 audit qualified)
  • Consultants will be happy to cover the UK as required to be on client site.
  • Applicants will have an understanding of risk assessment & management, data analytics, BYOD, marketing data practice (PECR) and some technology issues related to privacy regulations.
  • Core consulting skill requirements:

-        Strong communication and presentation skills at the C-level

-        Strong writing skills

-        Comfortable working in a project based / client serving model

-        Ability to shape client expectations

-        Drive client pursuits and engage in complex deals

-        Ability to work with global and diverse teams in a dynamic environment

-        Able to identify and develop on-going commercial opportunities with clients
